Held at Google’s headquarters in Central London, the inaugural Precious Lifestyle Awards saw some of the most creative British women of colour awarded for their enterprise.

The diverse range of finalists included months-old start-up entrepreneurs, women challenging the status quo and mothers with their children in tow. Each one reflecting excellence from across the creative sectors from hair and beauty, literature and podcast to fitness and innovation.

Hosted by columnist and blogger Lisa Bent, the event began with an opening speech from publicist turned author, Jessica Huie MBE, who spoke about the importance of staying connected to one’s purpose setting the tone of what would be an empowering evening full of magical moments that echoed the sentiments of both womanhood and sisterhood.

Special guests presenting the awards included Precious Lifestyle awards judges Keysha Davis, editor of Black Hair magazine, broadcasting queen, Angie Greaves, PR & Communications consultant, Iola C. Williams and Analytical Storyteller, Suki Fuller.

Precious Lifestyle Awards founder, Foluke Akinlose MBE commented:

“Huge congratulations to all our winners. The success of the event is a testament to the creativity, talent, and innovation that exists among British women of colour.”

Women of colour are some of the most creative individuals in the world yet so often their stories, brands and products are overlooked. It’s an honour to champion these achievements and share these wonderfully rich, success stories. I look forward to growing this new strand of the PRECIOUS family.”

Naphtaly Maria Zimmerman

Naphtaly is the founder of Well-being Brand NaphtalyWorld & ManjeKrioyo. a Haitian – Curaçaoan inspired catering brand.

Naphtaly developed a deep interest in herbal medicine, aromatherapy and a passion for health and well-being. She came to London and obtained a degree in Psychology and is now a health & wellness coach,

In 2016 she created NaphtalyWorld which provide skincare products and home fragrances that release essential oils to make your house smell like a spa.

The brand won the Radiant Health product of the Year at the PRECIOUS Lifestyle Award in 2018.

Michela and Lois Wilson

Michela and Lois Wilson.are sisters and co-founders of Saint Aymes, a brand with a mission to make every moment beautiful, by creating luxury, enchanting artisan chocolates, that are hand painted with 23ct gold, enriched with opulent colour and inspired by artistic greats.

Since the launch of Saint Aymes in Oct 2016, they are now stocked in Fenwick Bond Street, Central London. The Fenwick Newcastle Flagship store, a few independent UK boutiques and in Selfridges, London.

In 2018 they opened a luxury cafe in Connaught Village, London sering lattes sprinkled with 24-carat edible gold marsh-mallow infused hot drinks and Marie Antoinette cookie-and-white chocolate bites, the cafe has since been hailed as the most beautiful cafe in London.

St Aymes won the PRECIOUS Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2017.
